Robert Farago has an extensive old- and new-media background. He began his career at the age of 16 as a news writer for WBRU-FM in Providence, RI. Whilst annoying his school teachers, he worked at enough media internships to put a dozen people out of work: WGBH, WICE, The Providence Journal, etc. At Tufts University, he started a daily newspaper, produced a weekly cable TV show, edited music videos and began exploring personal computing. And, eventually, graduated. From there, he moved down to Atlanta where he picked electronic cotton for Massa Turner (CNN). In ten years, he moved from someone who moves camera three left or right by three inches for eight hours a day (since automated) to videotape editor, writer and reporter. He switched over SuperstationWTBS where he produced a program called Good News. After assuming the Managing Editor’s slot at a newspaper called Creative Loafing, he went freelance. In the UK.
At some point, Robert morphed from writer to hypnotist—a pursuit that kept him occupied and employed for ten years. Back to the states, he founded www.thetruthaboutcars.com (TTAC). Sold it to NameMedia. Developed websites for the 128 ring road rats. When the economic meltdown arrived, they sold TTAC to VerticalScope. That didn’t work out too well.
Now he’s building a sales engine imagined twelve years ago when training car salesman in hypnotic techniques. Go figure.
Frank Williams lives just north of Atlanta and speaks fluent Bubba. He’s a retired Air Force Medical Service Corps officer whose staffs quickly learned to tolerate the fury of his red pen when they prepared anything for his signature. Following his retirement, he spent two years as the State of Georgia’s Enterprise Information Technology Strategist before being “downsized.” Frank transitioned quickly into a brief but exciting career in automotive journalism as the first Managing Editor and resident snarkmaster of The Truth About Cars (.com). Nowadays he telecommutes as a Senior Researcher for Synthesis Partners, a DC-area consulting firm.
